KARGIL, JULY 29, 2021: The recent flash flood and mud slide has caused massive damage to houses, property and livestock in Khawos, says sources who visited the village here today.

As per reports, around 10 houses have filled by mud slide that has caused massive damage to property and livestock. The people are reportedly demanding to shift to another place as their shelter, land and property have been completely damaged by the flash flood.

The people whose houses have been damaged by the flood are shifted in a nearby Tourist Bungalow. While, livestock are found dead under the mud slide that is causing a concern of spreading disease.

Pertinent to mention that the CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve and SSP, Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary today visited Khawos, Panikhar to take stock of situation in the aftermath of flash flood, mud slide, tweeted the LAHDC Kargil.

As per the tweet, the CEC assures requisite measures for restoration of essential services, relief and rehabilitation to affected families. He further assured immediate rehabilitation to villagers whose houses have been damaged completely. As per reports, the volunteers of Baseej-e-Baqiyatullah cleaning mud from houses. On the other side, sources told that two machinery were diverting the flow of water to avoid any further damage.
