CEC visits community classes in Sankoo Education Zone
Takes stock of pace of progress on construction of health center, lift water supply scheme at G M Pore, interacts with public representatives, PRI members to know about people’s issues, developmental needs
KARGIL, JUNE 09, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan visited community classes in various villages in Sankoo Education Zone here today.
The CEC also inspected the pace of progress on the construction of health centre and lift water supply scheme at Gond Mangalpore.
Councillor Tambis Aga Syed Hadi, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer PHE Subhash Chander, District Education Planning Officer Haji Muhammad Amin besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.
The CEC visited the ongoing community classes at GM Pore, Gongma Saliskote, Thuina, Marpothang, Trespone and adjoining areas where he interacted with students and teachers and expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the classes.
While appreciating the volunteers and teachers over the successful conduct of the community classes, CEC Khan instructed the concerned to conduct the classes in open spaces while also ensuring the strict adherence of COVID-19 protocols.
The community elders in all villages appreciated the LAHDC Kargil over conduct of community classes and further said that this new approach has more actively involved the community in education. It has brought students from different schools on a single platform that is also enhancing their level of exposure.
On the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan said that the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur has announced Rs 25 lacs for functioning of community based classes. He instructed the teachers and other concerned officers to make judicious use of the allotted funds in smooth functioning of the community classes.
The CEC also visited various schools and took stock of the necessary facilities available in these educational institutions. At Saliskote, he visited the Government Middle School and assured to take necessary measures to for early completion of the water storage tank and the left out portions of the school building.
At Thuina, the CEC instructed the concerned officers to demarcate land of the school and to speed up the execution of work on the fencing of the school campus. He also took stock of the progress of work on the construction of motorable bridge at Thuvina and Brako -Thuvina Road.
Earlier, CEC Feroz Khan visited the under construction 50 bedded hospital at Gond Mangal Pore where he took stock of the progress of work.
The CMO Kargil briefed the CEC about the various facilities to be set up in the hospital in coming days.
The CEC assured to take up the issue for early procurement of equipments with the concerned authorities so that the health center is made functional at the earliest possible.
CEC Kargil also visited lift water supply scheme at GM Pore and instructed the authorities to make the lift water pump functional within 15-20 days to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the local population.
Meanwhile, the public representatives, PRI members including Sarpanchs, Panchs and village heads of various villages projected their demands, grievances and development needs to the CEC.
CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan while giving a patient to all issues projected by the people assured to consider them for suitable follow up in a phased manner.
