KARGIL MAY 03, 2021: Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh (UoL) C Phunsog launched the University’s upgraded website and the official Twitter handle in the Administrative Office at Kurbathang here on Sunday. 

Registrar UoL Imteeaz Kacho, Dean Students Welfare Dr Amjad Ali, Assistant Registrar Aga Syed Ali Shah besides and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. 

Expressing satisfaction on the overall design and features of the website, the VC UoL appreciated the efforts of Assistant Professor Mehboob Ali, In-charge IT Cell UoL and his team for their efforts in making the website vibrant and user-friendly.

Later, during his visit to the Aryan Valley Kargil, the VC visited Silmoo village where he met renowned oral historian and doyen of folk songs Master Mohammad Hussain.

During his interaction with Master Muhammad Hussain, the VC discussed the folklore and history of Ladakh and appreciated Master Hussain’s in-depth knowledge and sharp memory besides his exceptional command over the history of Ladakh.  

He assured Master Hussain about maintaining his recorded talks, narrations and songs in the institutional memory of the University of Ladakh for posterity. He then highlighted the need for recognizing the contribution of Master Hussain.

The VC also visited the Payupa Museum in Garkone where he appreciated the efforts of the custodians of this museum in preserving the ancient artifacts. 

Registrar UoL Imteeaz Kacho and other officers accompanied the VC during the tour.
