J&K to examine incoming passengers from Ladakh
‘Medical Check-up Centre established at Sonmarg’
Sonmarg, May 19, KNT: All passengers and drivers coming to Kashmir by road from Kargil and Leh shall undergo health examination test at tourist resort Sonmarg an official said on Wednesday.
The official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that from today, Health Department Ganderbal has set up a Medical Check-up Centre at Youth Hostel Sonmarg. He said at this Centre, the health condition of all the incoming passengers and drivers from Kargil and Leh will be examined.
The Centre will function 24×7, the official said.
He said the testing for travellers coming by road has started. “This would help in containing the spread of virus in the Valley,” he added.
Pertinently, the Srinagar-Leh highway is open for the traffic. Hundreds of people from Kargil and Leh enter Kashmir Valley on daily basis. (KNT)
