Kathua, May 27, KNT: At least 53 out of tested 218 Rohingya refugees lodged at Kathua’s Hira Nagar Sub-Jail have been tested positive for Covid-19.

Kathua’s Hira Nagar Sub-Jail in Jammu and Kashmir is called ‘holding centre’ after Rohingya Muslim migrants were lodged there on charges of illegal migration from Mynmar to Jammu.

Kathua District Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Choudhary while divulging information said that 53 Rohingyas have been found positive for Covid-19 who have been isolated. He said all these patients are asymptomatic.

Dr Chowdary said that the jail has been sanitized while more tests will be conducted in coming days in the holding centre. (KNT)
