Leh, March 4: Department of Sheep Husbandry organised a one-day breeder camp at Kanji village on March 3.

The villagers were made aware of the revival of domesticating sheep and goats, improvement of pashmina and the benefits of schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Development Package (PMDP) and KCC loans during the camp.

Assistant Director, Merino Farm, Matho, Dr Tsering Lamchung was the chief guest for the event. Block Officer, Khaltsi, Phuntsog Tashi; Technical Assistant, Mohammad Unman; concerned officials and villagers were present during the event.

Sheep Husbandry Department, Khaltsi distributed pashmina combs, UMMB feed and pashmina-weaving machines to the villagers during the camp.
