Leh, March 9: Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) celebrated International Women’s Day at their campus in Choglamsar. The event was organised to honour the women staff working at the organisation.

The event was attended by more than 50 female staff working in various wings of MIMC. The principal of Mahabodhi School and the in-charge of the Yoga and Meditation Centre participated in the event.

Speaking during the event, Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder of MIMC, stated that women play a vital role in developing society. He stressed the need to provide them with equal opportunity to participate in every field.

He added that women must not see the bringing up of a family as a disregard since a mother is the symbol of a caring and loving person. He also highlighted the importance of striking a balance between the two genders.
