Ladakh Team Win Laurels at 21st National Sqay Championship
Kargil, March 1, 2021: In its first ever National Championship, Ladakh Sqay Team Won eight medals in the recently concluded 21st National Sqay Championship held at Jaipur Rajasthan.
As per reports, Ladakh Sqay team was also presented outstanding performance award by Sqay Federation of India. Eight out of twelve Players from UT Ladakh has won Medals in the 21st National Sqay Championship.
It’s for the first time after Ladakh became Union Territory, that a team of Sqay under the aegis of Ladakh Sqay Association was flagged off by District Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve on 23rd of February.

The Medal winners include two Silver medals by Ummul Baneen and Muzaffer Ali Khan in Junior Category and two Bronze Medals each by Nissar Ali and Mohammad Hassan in Senior Category, three Bronze Medal by Renchen Dolkar, Iftikhar Hussain and Asiya Banoo in Junior Category and one Bronze Medal by Archo Bilques Fatima in Sub Junior Category.
The team was accompanied by Mohammad Hassan as Coach and Zaheer Abass Khan as Manager.
President Ladakh Sqay Association Zulfiqar Ali Khan congratulated the Team and appreciated and thanked the support shown by Deputy Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve for sparing two of his employees as coach and manager of the team.
Mudassir Wazir Vice President of Ladakh Sqay Association while appreciating the Team said that it’s the hard work of Coach Mohammad Hassan that team Ladakh has given such a wonderful result in its first match.
