HBYC Training to ASHA Workers Began at Leh
Leh, March 10: A 5-day training on Home-Based Care for Young Child (HBYC) for ASHA workers of Leh district started today at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office Training Hall. Deputy Commissioner (DC), Leh, Shrikant Suse inaugurated the training session.
Speaking during the event, DC Leh, Shrikant Suse, acknowledged and appreciated the contribution of ASHA workers for their work and making the programmes implemented by the Health Department successful. He also lauded them for their untiring and selfless work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
DC Leh exhorted the concerned officials to apprise the ASHA workers of the performance-based incentives as per the ASHA scheme. He also impressed upon the officials to streamline the ASHA accreditation programme process at the earliest.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr Manzoor-ul Haq, gave a brief introduction to the training programme and highlighted the work carried out by the ASHA workers.
Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr Motup Dorje gave the vote of thanks. He also shared that the Leh district is looking to achieve the SDG-30 targets by 2026.
The objective of the phase-wise training to ASHA workers, under the National Health Mission and the Poshyan Abhiyan, is to monitor the growth and development of children to address the issues of child stunting, child wasting, child mortality, and improve the nutritional status of the children could be addressed.
