KARGIL, MARCH 09, 2021: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 2021 an awareness programme was organized by the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Kargil under the guidance and supervision of Chairman DLSA Kargil/Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil Muhammad Rafiq Chak at Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) Kargil here on Monday. 

The programme was attended by the Secretary DLSA Kargil Wangial Tsering, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Kargil Rehana Parveen, Child Development Project Officer Gulnar Banoo, Superintendent Bal Ashram, Kargil Khairun Nissa, members of Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Kargil Muhammad Hassan Lal and Zakiya Banoo, Advocate Talib Hussain, Advocate Marjuma besides officials and staff of ICDS and Social Welfare Department, Angadwadi workers, staff of District Court Kargil and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).

The speakers including the Secretary DLSA Kargil Wangial Tsering, JJB Kargil Member Muhammad Hassan Lal, Advocate Talib Hussain and Advocate Marjuma threw light on the history and importance of the International Women’s Day and need for recognition of the contribution of women in the progress of society. 

Topics like Rights of Women and Domestic Violence were also discussed during the programme while a question answer session was also conducted. 

Later, the Secretary DLSA Kargil presented vote of thanks and presented traditional khataks to all participants as a token of appreciation for their contribution as women towards the society.
