Leh, March 20: The Department of Environment of Science, Government Degree College (GDC), Nubra, organised various programmes on World Sparrow Day.

The theme for this year’s World Sparrow Day, which is celebrated every year on March 22, is I Love Sparrows. The objective of celebrating this event is to celebrate the relationship between people and sparrows by making them remember the bond they share as people have lived in harmony with these little birds for 10,000 years.

A talk on the significance of World Sparrow Day and biodiversity was held in which students and faculty members of GDC Nubra took part. There was also an exhibition of photos and posters of sparrows during the event.
