Leh, March 13: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Leh Shrikant Suse today chaired the general body meeting (GMB) of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) District Hospital at the DC Conference Hall.

The officials apprised DC Leh of the achievements of the agendas discussed during the previous meetings of RKS, including the upgradation of the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), labour room, ICU and operation theatre, installation of the ultrasound machine and manifold oxygen plant. Pending issues, including installing an intercom system in all OPD wards and sections, and minor infrastructural changes at the SNM Hospital, were discussed in the meeting.

The other agendas discussed during the meeting included releasing bills of purchases made for the hospital, issues in registering Jan Aushadhi Kendra due to the non-availability of pharmacists, pending salaries of daily wagers under Covid-19 funds, Carbon-Neutral Ladakh project in SNM Hospital by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the early completion of effluent treatment plant (ETP), the fixing of rate for laboratory tests.

DC Leh directed the Medical Superintendent of SNM Hospital to prepare the financial projection for early approval and renotify the advertisement for the post of pharmacists. He also exhorted the officials to form an expert committee to approve the rate of laboratory tests. He impressed upon the officials to complete the said tasks at the earliest.
