COVID-19: Advisor Ladakh chairs meet to review preparedness
Leh, 25 March: Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula chaired a meeting to review the status and preparedness of COVID-19 management, at the UT Secretariat.
The meeting discussed the state of preparedness of Covid Care Centres, Quarantine Centres, Isolation Centres, medical equipment, medicines, manpower etc in view of the increase in Covid positive cases. Advisor was also informed that the first dose 60+ category would be completed within a week and the vaccination for age group of 45 above would start from April 1. Advisor asked the officers of the Health and Information Departments to ensure effective preparedness for the vaccine roll out in a time-bound manner to ensure a smooth and quick roll-out of COVID-19 vaccination for the 45+ age cohort in Ladakh.
He was also informed that the Covid care centres in each block is ready for use and was further informed that both the dedicated hospitals in Leh and Kargil are fully functional.

Keeping in view the influx of labour and expected tourist arrivals, he asked the officials to enhance field surveillance, establish check posts at various locations and streamline the testing process at the KBR Airport. Advisor also stressed that Covid appropriate behaviour should be strictly followed and masks and social distancing would need to be maintained. He directed that the existing SOPs should be strictly followed and enforced.
