KARGIL, MARCH 01, 2021:  As a part of the celebrations of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2021, Councillor Kargil Town, Haji Muhammad Abass Adulpa inaugurated the 1st Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Kargil at District Hospital Kargil here today.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Var, Residential Medical Officer (RMO), Kargil Dr Shabir Hussain, Community Health Officer Kargil Aga Syed Muhammad Shah besides doctors and paramedical staff were present on the occasion.

With the opening of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the district, people can now get medicines at lesser prices with same efficacy and quality.

Speaking on the occasion, the Councillor Town expressed optimism that the opening up of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra will go a long way in facilitating the common people by ensuring them availability of medicines at affordable prices. He also urged people to take maximum benefit from the Janaushadhi Kendra.

Pertinently, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra is an outlet under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, to provide quality medicines to the masses at affordable prices through special kendras.

The aim of the campaign is to reduce out of pocket expenses in healthcare.
