KARGIL, FEBRUARY 14, 2021: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Shakar Chiktan Kacho Asgar Ali Khan today held a meeting with the public representatives, concerned officers and members of social organizations to discuss the necessary arrangements for the upcoming event of Annual Ladakh Winter Carnival, 2021 being held in the sub division from 16th to 18th February, 2021.

Councillor Chiktan Mohsin Ali, BDC Chairperson Shakar Chiktan Sayeda Banoo, Sarpanchs, Panchs, representatives of Kargil Ice and Snow Sports Club Chiktan, SEWA Chiktan, Snow Storm Chiktan and Ladakh Olympic Association were present in the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, thorough discussions and deliberations were held for smooth and successful celebration of the winter carnival.

The meeting was informed that during the 3-day event which has been organized under the aegis of the District Administration Kargil with the objective to give impetus to winter sports and local culture in the area, several archery matches, cultural activities besides other related activities will be organized to entertain locals and visitors.

It was decided that the venue for event will be Chiktan Shagaran.

The SDM instructed the AEE R&B to ensure complete clearance and maintenance of the venue by the evening of 14th February, 2021 besides also ensuring that Community Hall Chiktan is also kept in complete readiness before start of the event.

The SDM also instructed all concerned officers and officials to ensure timely completion of all required arrangements so that the event is conducted in a smooth and successful manner.
