NYK Kargil Launch National Water Mission’s “Catch the Rain Campaign”
KARGIL FEBRUARY 23, 2021: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil, Ladakh organized the launching ceremony of National Water Mission’s “Catch the Rain Campaign” with the tagline “Catch the Rain Where it Falls, When it Falls” at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) Kargil here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kargil Tsering Motup, Programme officer, ICDS Kargil Nargis Banoo, District Youth Coordinator NYK Kargil Jigmat Spaldon besides other participants were present on the occasion.
ADC, Kargil Tsering Motup while speaking about the National Water Mission said that it is a nationwide campaign and highlighted about the water crisis which may threaten our future, adding he stressed on the need for using water efficiently and to reduce its unnecessary usage. He also advised the National Youth Volunteers of NYK Kargil to actively participate in organising this campaign.

Programme officer, ICDS Kargil Nargis Banoo while throwing light on water conservation measures highlighted about the various programmes of ICDS where volunteers can take part on ground in social work.
Earlier, the District Youth Coordinator NYK Kargil Jigmat Spaldon briefed about the aims and objectives of “Catch the Rain Campaign” and also mentioned about the awareness building campaign through various IEC activities which includes education and motivational programs, mass awareness campaigns and knowledge competitions.
The programme concluded with the water conservation pledge where in all participants expressed their strong resolve towards efficient use of water for a better future.
