KARGIL, FEBRUARY 22, 2021: As part of the 2nd edition of the Ladakh Winter Conclave, 2021, guests including prominent tour operators, travel agents, members of the All Domestic Tour Operators of India, bloggers, travel journalists were taken on a tour of the various historical and heritage sites in the Suru Valley area in Kargil today.

In the morning, the guests witnessed a snow soccer match held between Football Club Pushkum and Snow Soccer Team Kargil at Lainkipal Snow Slope Pashkum.

The guests also enjoyed Snow Ski demo at the Linkipal Snow Slope and during their interaction with the local youth encouraged them to continue the snow soccer which is the first of its kind in the world.

Later, the guests visited Trespone Valley Resort, Tai Suru village, Damsna Picnic Spot, Maitreya Buddha Statue and the mausoleum of Rgyal Khatoon at Karchay Khar where local scholar Nasiruddin Khafi explained the history and background of these heritage sites.

Pertinent to mention that the 2nd edition of Ladakh Winter Conclave 2021 is being held simultaneously in Leh and Kargil districts.

Meanwhile, the guests are also slated to witness the rich multiethnic culture of Kargil in its full bloom with the presentation of colorful group based and solo music and dance performances by the folk artists of the Balti, Purgi, Shina Dardi and Aryan Dardi tribes which will be followed by interactions, panel discussions, PPTs on different themes including the cultural heritage and tourism potential in Kargil besides the issues and opportunities for tourism promotion in the district.
