KARGIL, FEBRUARY 22, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan convened a meeting to discuss various issues faced by the colleges of district Kargil which were earlier associated with the University of Kashmir at Council Secretariat here on Monday.

Rector Ladakh  University Kargil Campus Kaneez Fatima, Principal Government Degree College Kargil Amina Qari, Principal Degree College Zanskar Professor Nassir Shabani, Principal Degree College Drass,  Professor Amjad Hussain, Assistant Professor Mehboob Ali, Assistant  Professor, Shujat Ali besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the major issue that was raised up by the concerned officers was that the results of undergraduate and other courses have pending from last many years, and since 2018 no examination have been conducted and results declared by the University of Kashmir in Kargil.

The CEC, Kargil while acknowledging the seriousness of the matter said that no compromise can be made with the academic career of the students and any further delay will hamper their future career prospects.

CEC Khan directed the Rector Kashmir University Campus Kargil and all the Principals of all the degree colleges to address the grievances of the students by establishing special grievance redressal desks at the respective college campuses till the 5th of March, 2021.

The Rector, Kargil Campus University of Ladakh, Kaneez Fatima said that the delays in examination has lead to the damage of academic opportunities and has emotionally affected the students. She stressed to introduce Arabic and Persian subjects at the school level so that they can match the curriculum at college level in these subjects.

Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari pointed out that the pending results of under-graduate and other courses from last many years, and non-conduct of examinations as well as non-declaration of results under by the University of Kashmir in Kargil is a serious issue and needs to be sorted out urgently, adding it cannot be afforded to be repeated in future.

Meanwhile, Professor Nassir Shabani also stressed to take up the matter immediately with the concerned authorities for its early resolution.
