Sankoo/ Jan. 03: Despite snowfall and bone-chilling cold weather in Kargil Ladakh, people in Sankoo marked the “martyrdom anniversary” of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani on his first anniversary after he was killed in an attack by the United States.

In this regard an impressive congregation held in memory of the top Iranian and Iraqi anti-terror commanders, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. The program was organised by Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Sankoo and Markaz-E-Tabligah Imam Raza Sankoo here on Sunday.

Where in thousands of people’s including Ulamas (clerics) from different adjacent areas of Sankoo participated and recited holy Quran to the soul of the deceased leaders and paid tributes to the departed souls.

Speaking on the occasion religious scholars threw light on the life and history of General Soleimani, and the further express solidarity and paid tribute to Ayatollah Taqi Misbah Yazdi who was also passed a day before.

Report suggest that, fateh Khawani and congregation in memory the deceased leaders were also observed at Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Lankerchey, Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Tai-Suru, Anjuman-e-Inqilab Mehdi Taisuru, Barsoo Block, Thangboo Purtikchay, Trespone, GM Pore, Kanoor and Tambis.

Meanwhile Maktab Shabab Ali Akbar Longjuk Saliskote organise Fatiha Khawani in memory of General Shaheed Qasem Soleimani, Shaheed Abu Mehdi al Muhandis and their companions held at Saliskote on 3 January.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and PMU deputy head Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US terror drone strike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

In this regard, another congregation held at Jamiya Masjid Waliye-E-Asr Saliskote on Sunday. This congregations were held under the Guidance of Sheikh Mirza Garavi.

Agha Syed Sadiq Rizvi president of Anjuman-e-Behbudi Sadat Kargil was the Chief Guest while as Shiekh Mirza as a guest of honour.

Students of different Makatibs from adjoining areas of Saliskote, youths, elders also participated in the event.

Eminent personalities from different parts of Kargil Ladakh participated, those clerics include Sheikh Hassan Mutahhari Faroona, Sheikh Hassan Quasimi, Sheikh Hussain Zakiri, Chairman MES Kargil, Mr. Nasir Hussain Khafi. Other clerics, speakers and poets from Saliskote including Executive Councillor Agha Syed Hassan Arman, Haji Mohammad Soleh, Akhone Ali Baba, and Mr Mohd Sajjad Khan were also present.

Aga Syed Sadiq Rizvi, Sheikh Hasan Qasimi, Aga Syed Arman, Haji Soleh President of SAAC and Mr Sajjad Khan public speaker highlights on the life and history of General Soleimani.

The Managing members of Maktab -e- Soleimani Saliskote organised different contests viz online book reading, Essay competition, Drawing, Creative writing contests. Students from different Maktabs participated in the programmes.

Later the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour distributed prizes among the participants.

The anchoring for the entire programme was conducted by Mujtaba Ansari. Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Agha Syed Hassan Arman concluded the programme with prayers for world peace and vote of thanks for the guests to participate in the event. He also thanked the management team whose efforts had made the programme successful.
