Feroz Khan Calls on LG Manoj Sinha
Kargil/ Jan. 15: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan called on the Lieutenant Governor J&K UT Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan J&K here today.
During the course of the meeting, Feroz Khan discussed with the LG certain issues being faced by the Ladakhi students’ community in J&K UT including the continuation of reservation in admission in institutions of higher learning in UT Ladakh.
“Due to the lack of appropriate institutions of higher learning in Ladakh, students are admitted to institutions of higher learning in J&K. The erstwhile state of J&K had a system of reservation for Ladakhi students so as to provide them a level playing field in the arena of education. I requested the Hon’ble LG Sahib to re-instate reservation in admissions as per past practice for Ladakhi students in premier institutions of J&K especially in institutions like SKUAST, Jammu University & Kashmir University, PG Courses and paramedical colleges “, CEC Khan said after the meeting.
