Kargil/ Jan. 14: Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil Mubarak Shah Nagvi today flagged off District Kargil Ice Hockey Team for UT Ladakh to participate in the National Level Ice Hockey Tournament scheduled to be held from 16^th January, 2021 at Gulmarg Kashmir.

The flagging off ceremony was attended by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, President Ladakh Olympics Association Kargil, Ajaz Hussain Munshi besides officials of Youth Services and Sports Department, Kargil.

Interacting with the players, Acting CEC Mubarak Shah Nagvi congratulated the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kargil for providing an opportunity to Ice Hockey team Kargil for participating in national-level tournament for the first time in the history of Kargil. He also congratulated players for their selection in the Ice Hockey team to represent Kargil district in the national level tournament.

Mubarak Shah Nagvi also extended his good wishes to the Ice Hockey team and hoped that they will excel in the upcoming national-level tournament and bring laurels to UT Ladakh in general and Kargil district in particular. 

 DYSSO Hussain Rehnuma said that a total number of 22 players including a manager and coaches are included in the Ice Hockey team of Kargil district. He said that the selection of players for Ice Hockey team was made during the Zonal Level Ice Hockey Tournament Ladakh Winter Games 2021 under Khelo India. He also thanked Ladakh Olympics Association Kargil for their support in selection trials of players for the Ice Hockey team.
